100+ Photo Album Title Ideas for Every Occasion

Photo album title ideas work best when they're short, personal and tied to what's inside: "Happy Days 2026", "Rome, Mostly Eating" or "Lola & Dan: We Got Lucky". Below are 110 photo album titles sorted by occasion, plus a simple formula for writing your own.

You've spent a whole Sunday on it. Forty pages, the photos finally in order, your favourite one from the beach placed just right. Then you get to the cover, and the title box is still empty and waiting.

The title is the first thing anyone reads when they pick up your book, and it's the word on the shelf ten years from now. So it's worth five more minutes. Here's how to find it.

The photo album title formula

Most good titles follow one of five patterns. The four covers in the photo above use the first four.

  1. Name + milestone: "Leonora, Happy 35th Birthday". Clear, personal, done.
  2. Feeling + year: "Happy Days 2026". It works for any family year and still makes sense in 2040.
  3. Event + year + name: "Graduation 2026, Meriah J." It gives the facts in one line.
  4. An inside joke or pun: "Lola & Dan: We Got Lucky!" Only the two of them know the full story, and that's the point.
  5. Place + what really happened: "Rome, Mostly Eating". Honest titles like this tend to get the biggest smile.

Pick a pattern, fill in your own details, and you've got a title. Then start your photo book and drop it on the cover.

What makes a good photo book title

  • Keep it to two to five words. Short titles fit the cover at a size you can read from across the room. Put dates and names in a smaller subtitle line.
  • Say it out loud. If it sounds like something you'd say at dinner, it'll feel right on the cover.
  • Be specific. "Our Holiday" could be anyone's book. "Iceland, Rained Twice" is yours.
  • Match the cover photo. A playful title on a formal portrait (or the other way round) can look off. Let them share a mood.
  • Think about the spine. If your book stands on a shelf, a short title on the spine makes it easy to find.

Want the title pressed into the cover itself? Look at debossed photo book covers in linen, buckram or leather.

Frequently asked questions

What are good album titles?

Good album titles are short, personal and specific to what's inside, such as "Year One", "Rome, Mostly Eating" or "Still Choosing You". If you're stuck, combine a name or place with a year.

What are some good titles for photos?

For a single photo, use a short caption that names the moment ("First Swim, [Beach Name]"). For a whole album, go broader and name the season, trip or relationship.

What are some cute album titles?

"Little Moments", "Our Happy Place", "Tiny Feet, Big Love" and "Cuddles and Crumbs" are popular picks for baby, couple and family books.

What are some funny names for a photo album?

Try "Proof We Actually Left the House", "2,000 Photos Later" or "Don't Show Mum Page 12". Funny titles work best when they hint at a real story inside.

Should a photo album title include the year?

For yearly family books, trips and milestones, yes. You'll thank yourself when there are ten books on the shelf. Put it in a smaller line under the main title.

How long should a photo album title be?

Aim for two to five words. Longer titles have to be printed smaller to fit the cover, so move the extra details into a subtitle.

Find the title, then make the book

A title often comes last, but it's what everyone sees first. Pick one from this list, or try the formula until something sounds like you. Then start your photo book and put it on the cover.
